Their professional management team has created a diversified investment portfolio focussing on long-term capital growth opportunities and competitive dividend payouts. The Unit Trust of Fiji invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced analysts to join their team.

Our client, the Unit Trust of Fiji is looking to recruit an Investment Analyst for their office in Suva. The Investment Analyst undertakes assessment of proposed new investments to assess viability, potential performance and contribution to UTOF’s investment portfolio. The Investment Analyst may also analyse existing investments in the UTOF’s portfolio.

The Investment Analyst will be a technical specialist experienced in analysis, possess a degree in Finance or Accounting and be accountable for:

• Analysis of the UTOF investment business; both new and current which will involve market research, scenario modelling, risk and impact assessments and business plan and performance assessments.

• Informing management on economic trends, portfolio and investment performance and reporting to the management, board and trustees.

• Building the business processes by creating new prototypes to analyse investment projects and models for the commercial viability of investments and projects.

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for reviewing existing business systems to improve operational efficiency, customer service and compliance. The position will also recommend new business systems based on improvement in efficiency and cost effectiveness.

MSAF has or is in the process of implementing a number of systems in the support areas however the operational effectiveness relies on extensive amounts of information, scheduling and responding to time frames. This position would be expected to make significant efficiency gains in a short period utilizing existing systems or systems easily accessed from Virus control to full outlook capability, document management etc.

Preferred : Degree in System Analyst/Programming/Application or Software Engineering /Computer Science and Information Systems
Desirable : Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Business Systems or Application/Software Engineering or Computer Science and Information Systems
Must be able to demonstrate:

• understanding of modern applications
• expertise in new business technology applications; web, cloud, smart systems
• Experience in analyzing systems and improving efficiency
• High level of computer literacy and system understanding - hardware/networks, software, internet/web etc

Experience in establishing ISO 9000 compliance would be an advantage
